Summary

I believe that my practical reports and quizzes provided the most evidence of achieving the learning outcomes for this unit. Practical applications are one of the best ways I learn and find that the report write up is where I solidify most of my knowledge.

I found it extremely hard to learn off the readings provided and due to the complexity of the topics there weren’t many other resources available to help build my knowledge. I got a lot of benefit out of the quizzes and worksheets, however, I found that they were very similar, if not the same questions, and I didn’t get as much out of them as I was expecting.

Although the topics were heavily content theory-based, I felt my knowledge was strongest when it came to the applications of the equations and the practical work. The equations were one of the easier parts of the content to learn as they simply involve substituting in values and interpreting the results and I got the hang of them quite quickly. The practical applications help me understand the theory I was learning, a lot of the theory was a lot too complex for me to learn just by reading and I often did not understand the concepts until they were explained in class. Even then I was never 100% confident. However, applying the theory in the practical lessons made it seem much simpler and I felt as though that was where I got most of my learning.

I feel if there were more worksheet style questions provided my learning would have been a lot stronger, as the theory of the applications only ever made sense to me if there were quiz or worksheet questions to help guide me into applying the knowledge.
