Electrochemistry – my final chemistry unit

This unit provided me with a broad understanding of electrochemistry and its variety of applications. However, I believe that the main skills that I gained from this unit were my practical skills and my ability to guide my own learning. Although it was extremely difficult to fully understand the concepts that were being taught, I found that my other skills were being developed at the same time. I was able to remind myself how to prepare solutions from both solids and liquids, as well as guide my own learning. Being able to design my own protocol at the end of the unit made me feel much more confident about going into the workforce. Even though I plan to have a career as a teacher, rather than in research, these skills will still apply and I believe have made me more confident in implementing my own experiments within the classroom.
